Institute for Post Graduate Teaching & Research in Ayurveda Office to the Director Sushruta BhavanGujrat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, is a Government College established in the year 1966. The college is affiliated to Gujarat Ayurved University,Jamnagar, located in Gujarat with an annual intake of 34 seats.

In 1952, Govt. of India has established a Central Institute of Research in Ayurveda at Jamnagar in the palacious building -'Dhanvantari Mandir'.On 20th July, 1956 a Post Graduate Training Centre in Ayurveda (PGTCA) was established.In 1962, CIRISM and PGTCA were merged to form Institute for Ayurvedic Studies and Research (IASR)In 1963, IASR was renamed as Institute for Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (IPGT&RA).On 11th June, 1970 Lease Deed between Govt. of India and GAU was singed and immovable properties etc of IPGT &RA were handed over to the GAU for the management of the Institute.This institute is fully financed by Govt. of India and administered by Gujarat Ayurved University.

Top rating has been given to this Institute by Ministry of AYUSH in it's internal grading.This Institute is designated as WHO Collaborating Centre for Traditional Medicines (Ayurveda).Students from Europe,Africa and SAARC countries are studying in P.G. & Ph.D. courses.

In Gujarat Counseling for AYUSH is conducted by Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC) .ACPUGMEC is limited to the conduct of centralized Counseling, which includes online registration, document verification, online/offline Counseling procedure, seat allotment and issue of admission order as per NEET UG of current academic year. Candidates are advised to go through the user manual in the registration portal while filling the online registration form given at http://medadmgujarat.org/ug/home.aspx

Course Duration:

5 ½ Years (Study Period – 4 ½ Years + Compulsory Rotating Internship 1 Year)

Eligibility:

1. Applicants must have passed class 10+2 or equivalent qualification with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as mandatory subjects.
2. Candidates must have scored minimum 50% marks in Biology /Biotechnology, Physics & Chemistry.
3. The Minimum age of the applicant at the time of admission should be 17 years.
4. Applicant must be NEET qualified.
5. Applicants should be an Indian.

6. Migration certificate (T.C.) from the University or College last attended
7. In case of having a breach of study, an affidavit must be submitted by the candidate that during the gap period he/she was not involved – in any political activity, Criminal activity and no Criminal case is pending against him/her in any court of law.
