DISTRIBUTION OF SEATS FOR BAMS/BHMS/BUMS State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra State

85% of the seats under the State quota will be allocated to candidates from the State and filled based on the NEET UG 2024 merit list, with reservations as per constitutional and specific rules, including for female candidates. 15% of the Institutional quota for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS courses in unaided private and minority colleges will be filled on an All India basis, including eligible NRI, OCI, and Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates. These seats will be filled through the Competent Authority via online CAP rounds (refer Annexure-S, Annexure-DD, Annexure-EE, and Annexure-GG). For other courses (excluding MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS) in private and minority colleges, the 15% Institutional quota will also be filled on an All India basis, including NRI, OCI, and OMS candidates. These seats will be filled by the respective institutions through direct applications from eligible candidates.

EWS reservation: The 10% reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will apply to available seats for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, and BUMS courses only if the central government or the respective councils increase the current number of seats. For all other courses, the 10% EWS reservation will be applied to the existing available seats (refer to Annexure-T for details).

Non-Creamy Layer Certificate: Candidates belonging to DT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), SEBC, and OBC (including SBC) categories must provide a valid Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate, which should be valid until at least 31st March 2025, during physical document verification and admission. Failure to present this certificate at the time of document verification will result in the candidate being considered under the open (general) category. It is important to note that submitting the NCL Certificate after document verification will not restore the candidate's claim to their reserved category.

Creamy Layer: Candidates belonging to the 'Creamy Layer' within the categories DT-A, NT-B, NT-C, NT-D, SEBC, and OBC (including SBC) should note that they are not eligible for reservation benefits. This certificate, in the prescribed format, should clearly indicate its validity up to or beyond 31st March 2025, and must be submitted during the physical document verification process.

A candidate from the Backward Class category, belonging exclusively to Maharashtra State, is eligible to claim a seat under the reserved category. However, any requests to change the category from Open to Reserved after the release of the provisional merit list will be directly rejected.

Inter-se for vacant constitutional reserve seats: Seats that remain vacant from the reserved categories—SC, ST, DT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), SEBC, and OBC (including SBC)—will be filled by candidates from the respective reservation groups in the following order of priority.

the stipulated deadline, they will remain eligible to participate in Round 2 and Round 3.
  • If a candidate is selected in Round 1 of counseling but does not report to the allotted institute, it will be considered a "free exit" (this option is available only in Round 1 and
Round 2). No new registration is required in this case. However, the candidate can participate in Round 2 and Round 3 by logging in with their existing registration details and
submitting fresh preferences. The seat allotted in Round 1 will be canceled. The unclaimed seat will be treated as vacant as of the last date of joining, and from the next day,
