Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Gwalior, Gwalior institute is one of renowned Ayurveda College and counting as the oldest institute of Ayurveda in India and has a glorious history of Ayurveda education. This institute was established as a “Rajkiya Ayurveda Vidyalaya” (state ayurveda school) in 1916. In preliminary years arrangement was made to run two year diploma courses of Ayurveda Upadhyaya, Ayurveda Shastri and Ayurvedacharya was started.

In 1949, five year integrated course, B.I.M.S. was started and got the affiliation of “Indian medicine council, U.P.”. In 1956 this institute was affiliated to “Vikram University, Ujjain” and B.A.M.S. course was started and this institute is shifted to present building.
This institute was affiliated to “Jiwaji University, Gwalior” in 1965. Since 1989, a new prescribed 5 year and 6 month (5 and ½year) course was applied for degree course which is running continuously. Every year 50 seats are filled for B.A.M.S. course with C.C.I.M.’s permission in this institute. Out of these 50 seats, 5 seats are nominated for BIMSTEC student as per Govt. rule.
The post graduate course (M.D.) was started in 1977 in the subject of “Dosha Dhatu Mal Vigyan” (Physiology). This institute had announced by state government of M.P. as autonomous body 1997, and management of the institute is regulated by the registered society; dated 03-02-1997, as Govt. Autonomous Ayurved College and Hospital, Gwalior.
In the next couple of year, 2016, this institute is going for celebrate its completion of hundred years “centennial Jubilee”.
MP Ayush NEET counselling 2021 will start after the results of the NEET 2022 Exam. The counselling procedure is for those applicants who have scored equal to or above the minimum cutoff in the NEET exam. It is a centralized online counselling process through which applicants can apply to various government and private colleges are affiliated with the State Medical University of Madhya Pradesh.
