Sheth J.P. Govt. Ayurvedic College,Bhavnagar, is a Government College established in the year 1963. The college is affiliated to Gujarat Ayurved University,Jamnagar, located in Gujarat with an annual intake of 60 seats.

The Department of Ayurveda is started in May 1960 under the Health and Panchayat along with establishment of Gujarat state. In 1979, it was renamed as directorate of Traditional System of Medicine. Again it was changed as directorate Indian system of Medicine & Homoeopathy. The name of ‘Directorate Indian System of Medicine & Homeopathy’ has been changed once again as Department AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani Siddha and Homeopathy on 19th April, 2018 vide resolution No.: MKM/102017/3758/ CHH of Government of Gujarat. The directorate was shifted to Dr Jivraj Mehta Bhavan, Gandhinagar in the year of 1983.

The department is managing all types of activities like guiding inspecting, maintaining, developing, financing, administrating as well as all technical responsibilities regarding education, health services, herbal gardens, manufacturing of classical Ayurvedic medicine, registration of practitioners, training of all technical staff and research etc.

In Gujarat Counseling for AYUSH is conducted by  Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC) .ACPUGMEC is limited to the conduct of centralized Counseling, which includes online registration, document verification, online/offline Counseling procedure, seat allotment and issue of admission order as per NEET UG of current academic year. Course Duration:

 5 ½ Years (Study Period – 4 ½ Years + Compulsory Rotating Internship 1 Year)

Eligibility:

1. Applicants must have passed class 10+2 or equivalent qualification with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as mandatory subjects.
2. Candidates must have scored minimum 50% marks in Biology /Biotechnology, Physics & Chemistry.
3. The Minimum age of the applicant at the time of admission should be 17 years.
4. Applicant must be NEET qualified.
5. Applicants should be an Indian.

Qualifying Percentile and Cut-off Score:

1. Age proof (Certificate of birth/10th Class Certificate)
2. Marks sheet (10th & 10+2) and higher Qualification (if any).
3. NEET Score.
4. Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution, last attended.
5. Caste Certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC Candidates).
6. Migration certificate (T.C.) from the University or College last attended
7. In case of having a breach of study, an affidavit must be submitted by the candidate that during the gap period he/she was not involved – in any political activity, Criminal activity and no Criminal case is pending against him/her in any court of law.
8. Six passport sized colour photographs.
9. Two self-addressed and stamped (Rs5/-) envelopes.
