J.S. Ayurved Mahavidyalaya (JSAM) was established in 1938, by the Vaidya Sundarlal Joshi with the patriotic feeling and by the inspiration of Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The institute was a grant-in-aid institute earlier. In 2007, The managing organization Mahagujarat Medical Society (MMS) realized the potential of the institute and to get a free hand in developmental decisions and became self-financed. This enabled the institute to work independently toward one goal in unison and that is to develop professionally and to progress in the field of Āyurveda education, research and health care system. Since then the college and hospital have made significant progress in education and patient care.

The College has a well maintained Herbal Garden spread over 4472.95 sq.m of land and consists of exquisite collection of rare herbs, plants and trees. The Garden houses more than 8000 medicinal plants and consists of a Demonstration Room. For clear and easy identification nameplates of the plants with Sanskrit and botanical names are placed to help the students and public. Plants irrigated with water almost all the days. Efforts are still on to increase the present numbers Space for Herbal Garden: 4472.95 sq.m /48145 Sq. ft.

Admission Process

In Gujarat Counseling for AYUSH is conducted by  Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC) .ACPUGMEC is limited to the conduct of centralized Counseling, which includes online registration, document verification, online/offline Counseling procedure, seat allotment and issue of admission order as per NEET UG of current academic year. Candidates are advised to go through the user manual in the registration portal while filling the online registration form given at http://medadmgujarat.org/ug/home.aspx

Course Duration:

 5 ½ Years (Study Period – 4 ½ Years + Compulsory Rotating Internship 1 Year)

Eligibility:

  1. Applicants must have passed class 10+2 or equivalent qualification with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as mandatory subjects.
  2. Candidates must have scored minimum 50% marks in Biology /Biotechnology, Physics & Chemistry.
  3. The Minimum age of the applicant at the time of admission should be 17 years.
  4. Applicant must be NEET qualified.
  5. Applicants should be an Indian.

  2. Marks sheet (10th & 10+2) and higher Qualification (if any).
  3. NEET Score.
  4. Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution, last attended.
  5. Caste Certificate (in case of SC/ST/OBC Candidates).
  6. Migration certificate (T.C.) from the University or College last attended
  7. In case of having a breach of study, an affidavit must be submitted by the candidate that during the gap period he/she was not involved – in any political activity, Criminal activity and no Criminal case is pending against him/her in any court of law.
  8. Six passport sized colour photographs.
  9. Two self-addressed and stamped (Rs5/-) envelopes.
