Government Ayurveda Medical college & hospital was established by Government of Tamilnadu in the year 2006 for the purpose of ensuring, effective and systematic instructions, teaching, training, research and development in ayurved.. First batch of students got admitted in the academic year 2009-10. The college was established in Kanyakumari district because Ayurvedic Medicines and treatments are very much popular among the public.The college is permanently affiliated to TN MGR Medical University,Chennai,Tamilnadu . The University awards the degree to the successful students of the college.

Note: 1. In respect of BUMS course any unfilled BC seats will be filled only by BC Muslims and any MBC/DNC, SC/SCA/ST vacant seat will be filled by throwing open to Open Competition if no BC, MBC/DC, SC, SC (Arunthathiyars), ST candidates are available.

Course Duration:
4 1/2 years + 1 Year compulsory rotatory residential internship.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: -
NATIVITY:-
i. Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu.
ii. Candidates who are native of Tamil Nadu studied from VI to XII Std. either partly or completely in schools situated outside Tamil Nadu should produce the “Nativity Certificate”.
iii. The Certificate of Nativity in Tamil Nadu should be issued by the competent authority only in the specified format available (ANNEXURE IV) in the prospectus and supported by a copy of Passport / Aadhar Card / Ration Card / Birth Certificate. If the copy of the supporting document is not produced, then the application form will be rejected. Nativity Certificate submitted later will be summarily rejected.
iv. Applications without a proper Nativity Certificate will not be considered.
v. Permanent Residence Certificate will not be accepted.
vi. Foreign Nationals though they might have studied from 6th standard onwards or in a college in Tamil Nadu , they are NOT eligible to apply for admission to B.S.M.S. /B.A.M.S./ B.U.M.S./ B.H.M.S courses 2021-22 session.
vii. Other State candidates who have studied from VI Standard to XII Standard continuously in Tamil Nadu, will be deemed to be native of Tamil Nadu and will be considered under the Open Category.
viii. Community Certificate obtained from other States will not be considered for reservation and such candidates will be treated as open category.
