Anantha Laxmi Govt. Ayurvedic College  has glorious past of 56 years having been started on 19-11-1956 under private management in a donated building by Smt. Anantha laxmi, W/o. Late Akarapu Narsingam, Warangal with the intake capacity of 30 with the timely efforts of Ayurveda Enthusiasts like P.V. Narsimha Rao, Hon’ble Minister for external affairs, Govt. of India. And this Institution was affiliated to Osmania University Hyderabad on 02-11-1968 the college had been completely absorbed and taken over by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for further course of management which is affiliated Kakatiya University, Warangal in 1987 the affiliation of the college was rransferred to Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada and the admission in B.A.M.S. is through EAMCET in the year 1978 the syllabus of CCIM has been introduced to BAMS students.

The BAMS degree is being given by Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences after successful completion of 4 ½ year study and 1 year internship. The annual intake capacity of students is 30 for UG and enhanced to 50 from 2007 onwards. This college is having 14 departments along with Laboratories, Library, Hostels (Boys & Girls) and Herbal Garden consist of 460 Medicinal Plants spreaded in 5.19 Acers of Government land and an attaqched 100 bedded Teaching Hospital constructed at Old Grain Market premises in 2 Acres of land situated in heart of the city i.e. nearby Railway & Bus stations with well equipped OP&IP units by providing better health facilities this region public through Ayurveda system of medicine. This college is working under the administrative control of Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (Department of AYUSH).

Admission Process

Admission into BAMS, BHMS, BUMS & BNYS Courses in all the Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani and Naturopathy Medical Colleges affiliated to Dr. KNRUHS for the academic year under Competent Authority Quota seats i.e., the seats in Government Ayurveda, Homoeopathy & Unani Colleges and Competent Authority Seats in Private Un-aided Non-Minority Ayurveda, Homoeopathy and Naturopathy Medical Colleges under Dr. KNRUHS.

The admission for Homeopathic colleges  in Private colleges is divided into two categories :

  • Government Seats and
  • Private (management) Seats
  1. Government Seat: The Counseling is conducted by Dr. KNRUHS  (KNR University of Health Sciences) in which only local domicile students can participate in Counseling and it is based on NEET Score and Ranking. 50% of seats are available for government seat in Private colleges. The Andhra Pradesh Ayush Counselling (BAMS/BHMS/BUMS)  will be done in online mode on the official website of Dr. KNRUHS. There are three rounds of Counseling First round, second round, and Mop-up round of Counseling. etc
  2. Private(management) Seat: The Private Seats are open to all, where the aspirants must be qualified in the NEET-UG examination. 50% of seats available for Private or management seats, in which 15% is for NRI.

Special Category Reservations under the categories of CAP, NCC, PWD is as follows:

Reservation For Women Candidates: 33 1/3% of seats are reserved for women candidates which are horizontal reservations.

Course Duration:

 5 ½ Years (Study Period – 4 ½ Years + Compulsory Rotating Internship 1 Year). Students will have 4 professional exams within a duration of 4.5 years and a compulsory rotating internship for 1 year. medical colleges in Karnataka states are regulated as per the rules and regulations of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science which is also known as RGUHS, Bangalore. 

Eligibility:-

  • A candidate must have passed the PUC or its equivalent examination with English as one of the languages and Physics, Chemistry & Biology as optional subjects with not less than 50% of marks in aggregate in the Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry & Biology).
  • The candidate should have attained the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission.
  • In order to be eligible for admission to the undergraduate course for an academic year,  it shall be necessary for the candidate to obtain a minimum of marks at the 50th percentile in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by an authority designated by the  Central government,  for the undergraduate course held for the said academic year.
  • For candidates belonging to the  SC/ST/OBC  the minimum, marks shall be at the 40th percentile. For candidates with  benchmarks  disabilities  as  specified  under  the  rights  of  the persons with Disabilities act, 2016 (49 of 2016),  the minimum marks  shall  be at the 45th percentile for the General category and 40th percentile for the  SC/ST/OBC
  • For  Foreign national candidates any other equivalent qualification to be approved by the Central Government may allow, and entrance examination for admission to undergraduate courses namely NEET shall not be applicable for the Foreign national candidates.
  • Only those students who have qualified NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST [NEET UG 2021] conducted by NTA are eligible for admission either through Merit, Management, or NRI quota.

  7. Permanent Caste Certificate (Integrated Community Certificate) claiming reservation under BC/SC/ST Categories issued by an Officer prescribed of Govt. of Telangana/Andhra Pradesh
  8. Aadhar Card
  9. Candidates who have studied in the institutions outside of Telangana have to submit 10 years (years of period to be specified) residence certificate of the candidate or either of the parent issued by MRO / Tahsildar of Govt. of Telangana/Andhra Pradesh
  10. The candidates claiming fee exemption shall produce the latest Income certificate of the Parent issued by MRO / Tahsildar of Govt. of Telangana.
  11. Undertaking in the form of Affidavit on Rs. 100 /- Stamp paper by the Parent and candidate stating that the caste and area mentioned in the certificates are genuine and they will be held responsible for any further consequences as per law if any discrepancy noticed.(See Annexure-III).
  12. Local residence certificate issued by MRO of Telangana/Andhra Pradesh for candidates appeared privately.
  13. Candidates claiming eligibility of reservation under Special categories i.e., CAP,PWD, NCC should furnish the required certificate in support of their claim
  14. EWS Certificate issued by competent authority of Government of Telangana Tahsildar ( if applicable).
